Infection Trends

  • Rhinovirus/Enterovirus continues to drive the largest share of positives but declined from 30.6% to 26.2% over the last 2 weeks, marking a gradual downward trend after fall peaks.

  • Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) increased from 2.8% to 4.0%, continuing a steady seasonal rise consistent with early winter surges.

  • Influenza A/B shows a significant week-over-week increase from 2.7% to 5.0% over the last 2 weeks, indicating early influenza activity beginning to take hold. The highest activity was observed in Texas with 13.0% positivity in the last 7 days, followed by Delaware at 9.5%, and Alabama, Florida, and Wisconsin all at 9.1%.

  • Parainfluenza (types 1–4) decreased slightly from 8.1% to 6.7% but remains elevated compared to baseline fall patterns.

Seasonal Outlook

  • RSV and Influenza are beginning their expected seasonal climb and may increase sharply as winter approaches.

  • Rhinovirus/Enterovirus is trending downward but still contributes the highest positivity rate overall.

  • COVID-19 remains low and steady, with no major shifts noted.

  • Parainfluenza remains elevated for late fall but has started to decline.

  • Other pathogens, including adenovirus, human metapneumovirus, and seasonal coronaviruses, are circulating at low to moderate baseline levels.
