Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
HealthTrack is a national clinical laboratory that partners with urgent care centers, clinics, and physician offices across the United States. We do not manufacture or sell tests directly to patients, nor do we collect samples ourselves. If your provider ordered lab testing during your visit, the sample was sent to HealthTrack for processing and reporting back to your provider.
Lab billing often occurs after insurance processing is complete, not at the time of your clinic visit. Your provider submits the sample on the day of service, HealthTrack performs the testing, and insurance adjudication can take weeks or months. Only after insurance finishes processing is the patient balance determined. This is why a bill may arrive months after your visit. It does not mean your information was leaked or shared improperly.
Yes. HealthTrack is a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited clinical laboratory that processes diagnostic testing ordered by licensed healthcare providers. If you would like confirmation, call the urgent care or clinic you visited and ask which laboratory processed your test. They can confirm HealthTrack directly.

Most urgent care centers bill only for the office visit. Laboratory testing is billed separately by the lab that performed the work, similar to imaging or pathology services. Your Explanation of Benefits from insurance will list HealthTrack or an affiliated laboratory entity as the lab provider.

Clinic payments typically cover the provider visit and facility or administrative fees. They usually do not include the laboratory processing fee unless clearly stated at the time of service. Your insurance Explanation of Benefits will show what insurance paid, what portion applies to deductible or coinsurance, and any remaining patient responsibility.

Healthcare pricing in the US is complex and varies by insurance plan. HealthTrack offers prompt pay discounts, financial assistance options, and payment plans when needed. These options exist to reduce financial burden, not because the bill is invalid.

To reach patients more efficiently, HealthTrack may use mailed statements, secure text notifications, and phone outreach. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. You may also request paper statements only by contacting our billing team.

Each outreach attempt or billing cycle may generate a unique reference number for tracking purposes. This does not indicate multiple bills or duplicate charges. Your account balance remains tied to your name, date of service, ordering provider, and test performed.

Your date of service appears in the leftmost column of the transaction table on your statement. This is the date your sample was collected and the laboratory service was performed. Please note: Do not use the statement date (the date the bill was issued).

If the wrong option is selected, you’ll simply encounter an error or be unable to locate your account. Return to the Pay My Bill page and select the correct portal based on your date of service.

HealthTrack is transitioning to a new billing partner. During this period, services provided in 2025 and earlier are billed through our previous system, while services in 2026 and after use the new system.

We recommend this order of verification: Review your insurance Explanation of Benefits, call the clinic or urgent care you visited, and contact HealthTrack billing for a detailed breakdown. We will provide your date of service, ordering provider, test performed, and insurance processing details.

HealthTrack works extensively with insurance and patients before any collection activity occurs. Ignoring bills is never recommended. If you believe a bill is incorrect, contact us so we can review it together.

That is understandable. Healthcare billing can be confusing and frustrating. Call us directly. Our billing team will walk through your account step by step. No pressure, no obligation to pay during the call.

No Surprises Act

Under the No Surprises Act, a patient has the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much anticipated medical care will cost. Patients who do not have health insurance or who have certain types of health care insurance may request a “Good Faith Estimate” of the total expected costs of any health care items and services before arranging for or scheduling the provision of an item or service, such as a laboratory test. If a patient receives a bill for health care items or services that were provided that is $400 more than a “Good Faith Estimate,” they can dispute the bill.

HealthTrack will provide a “Good Faith Estimate” of the cost of laboratory tests that it is requested to perform. To receive a Good Faith Estimate, email HealthTrack at [email protected].

For more information about the No Surprises Act and a patient’s right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers or email [email protected].
